St. Peter 03:23
It will be far too late, when you’re standing at the gate, waiting, To see where the axe drops, where the big wheel stops, spinning. And your skin will turn blue, as you quake in your shoes, and pray, that it’s full down there, or he’s having a good day. Everything you’ve done will come around, even when you’re lowered into the ground. So I just smile because I know where you’ll be found, because everything you’ve done will come around. He’ll read from a telegram, Sent by the big man, up high. Of everything you’ve done wrong, and the list is very long, you cry; ‘Is this going to take all night? I’ve got some wrongs to make right, you see.’ He’ll say, ‘We’ve got plenty of time, you can never leave.’ Everything you’ve done will come around, even when you’re lowered into the ground. So I just smile because I know where you’ll be found, because everything you’ve done will come around. I wish I could be there when St. Peter, be there when St. Peter shakes his head and says no.
2.
Quiet like your mother’s womb, when I picked the lock into your room. I held the shutter button down as I held my tongue, I stayed just to hear the air in your lungs, because I am The Invisible Man. Soon through the window leered the sun. I stayed just long enough to hear you come, alive again and conscious too, so out that friendly window I flew, because I am The Invisible Man. Yes I’m outside, always looking in. A vulture, circling a hurricane I am The Invisible Man.
3.
You said you’d hate to see me drown in the river, I’ve got news for you sister, I don’t want to either. You said the size of the buildings will dwarf me, and the shadows will cloak me, and the fumes will choke me. You said I never even tried one time, how do you know? How do you know I never? Maybe the sights will make me star-struck, maybe you’re right; I’ll come unstuck, and run out of luck. But maybe I’ll use the shadows to shade me, use the river to float me, and be the blood that runs through me.
4.
3 Days' Rain 03:18
O here’s that time again, when the clouds turn black and rain. Lightning strikes the tallest tree, Big waves get lost in the sea. Do not let the hurricane in. Do not let the tornado spin. I don’t like what’s happened to, the girl I thought I knew. Your smile has been replaced, by a dead look upon your face. No-one thought to check inside, to see what had died. And I heard you reply, as the tears came down from your eye, that 3 days’ rain will empty any sky. Yeah, 3 days’ rain will empty any sky. When the white coat shakes his head, invites you to sit on the bed, when all you want is a hole in the floor, to fall through; to not feel anymore.

We drove the Mercedes I’d saved up for, the one with the motorcycle dent in the door. Pushing triple figures we both start to sing, ‘If I can Dream’ by The King, and that’s my favourite song, I live for the line, when he growls and kind of cries, all at the same time. Partners in crime, Bonnie and Clyde, you took your porn-star shoes along for the ride. Your open mouth makes me think like a sinner, as you fix your lipstick in the rear-view mirror, and some of my thoughts, would make the devil blush. Half the things you say, would make my mother blush. I’m not looking for eternal bliss, I’m just looking for moments like this. We wrote the script to the movie we were in; I was James Dean, and you were Marilyn. I was only half-joking when I said it was a dream, to die quick, hurled through a windscreen. And I’ll never forget, the answer you gave. You said, 'It would be like drowning, on the crest of a wave.' I’m not looking for eternal bliss, I’m just looking for moments like this.

Cordelia 03:01
Demonic, Rose West psychotic, got the number of the beast, sewn into her fleece. She’s the kind of girl, you leave at home, to find the curtains on fire, fish in the tumble dryer. She said they needed a wash, like she’s needed a doctor all her life. She said they needed a wash, like she’s needed a doctor all her life. Cordelia, Cordelia. But she is good for me, I’ve needed excitement, ever since I got the job in the city. I live my life through her, and that’s enough, to still grab onto the world, by the neck of its scruff. And I go crazy when she calls my name, ‘cause we have fun. Yeah, I go crazy when she calls my name, ‘cause we have fun.
7.
Cut and Dry 03:08
Call me up drunk, anytime, call me crying down the telephone. If you just need to hear, a voice that is near, I’ll be looking out for love. And if you ever need to see, how deep the bullet lies, just take a look to the sea, see the waves reach me, I’ll be looking out for love. See the river overflow, see the water start to rise, see your feet get wet, it’ll rise to your neck, I’ll be looking out for love. People aren’t just good or bad, but things they do are cut and dry. I pride myself on this sense, on your side of the fence, I’ll be looking out for love. Call me up drunk, anytime, call me crying down the telephone. If you just need to hear, a voice that is near, I’ll be looking out for love.

Looking back through tired eyes, of you and me, by the sea. The future was ours to make, the world was ours, ours to take. I was going to be an astronaut, when we were young. You were going to sail the seven seas, now we’re running, just to stand still. Hammered over the head for years, with the reality, of mediocrity. I can’t help but believe, how young I was; so naïve. I was going to be an astronaut, when we were young. You were going to sail the seven seas, now we’re running, just to stand still. And I’ll never forget,

7th Wave 04:05
When the horses on the roundabout, cease to smile, and the wind whips tarpaulin on, the deck-chair piles, and wet pebble-dash looks like skin, of crocodiles, I take a ride down by the sea, take a ride on my trusty steed. I grabbed life by the handlebars, and it begged me to stop. Rode it down the hill, peddled hard right from the top. My skin was greedy for the thrill, of a million rain-drops. My lungs they gorged on the gushing air, my eyes like pin-balls darting everywhere. Well I know, the 7th wave is the biggest wave, mother used to say. But they will roll back, into the sea the very same way. I look up and see a thundercloud, Swoop and rise. But it’s the starlings from the pier, I quickly realize, as my front wheel buckles, and sends me up into the skies, and my face skids along wet concrete, and gets overtaken by my feet. Well I know, the 7th wave is the biggest wave, mother used to say. But they will roll back, into the sea the very same way. The 7th wave is the biggest wave, mother used to say. But they will roll back, into the sea the very same way. And lying on the ground, I see the 7th wave roll in. Like an excited puppy, tongue out clattering, and tripping. I see it as it makes its way, up the beach; grasping. And see it swallowed up by the sea, so I set fire to my rusty steed. Well I know, the 7th wave is the biggest wave, mother used to say. But they will roll back, into the sea the very same way. The 7th wave is the biggest wave, mother used to say. But they will roll back, into the sea the very same way.

I’ve been working, on my master plan. It’s how to make time, out of nothing. How to cage the days, imprison years, to trap the youth inside, I hold so dear. Like a lizard, on a hot rock, I’ll live slowly, and save myself up. In a few years’ time, they’ll all ask me, how I managed to make time.
11.
Yes it’s hard times, No-one’s giving nothing, hard times, no-one’s getting nothing. We’re all trying just to take a little, but the bottom fell out, the top and the middle. It was cold when I went looking for my girl Suzette, but I found her, cuddling a cigarette. Roof’s a-leakin’, it’s coming through the ceiling. Paint’s a-peelin’, can hear my coffin sealing. Sold my car just to buy some fuel, Sold my kids just to buy them gruel. It was cold when I went looking for my girl Suzette, but I found her, cuddling a cigarette. Holes in my soles; yeah they’re getting old. Holes in my clothes, letting in the cold, shave my beard with a butcher’s knife: I’m really not that fussed with life. It was cold when I went looking for my girl Suzette, but I found her, cuddling a cigarette. I’ve got plans, Yeah I’ve got dreams, of my pockets, bursting at the seams. Money’s like the cells inside: you need some in order to multiply. It was cold when I went looking for my girl Suzette, but I found her, cuddling a cigarette.
